The Epson Stylus SX218 enables you to take control of all your home document and photo printing. This affordable multifunction inkjet printer is also affordable to run with a set of printer cartridges costing less than £30 from competitive retailers. The Epson SX218 ink cartridges consist of four individual DURABrite Ultra Epson ink cartridges, which means you only replace the colour used and this is what make it a more affordable printer in the long run compared to its competitors which use tri-colour cartridges. The SX218 has a long list of functions the most important of which is printing and this is where the SX218 shines. Great for printing schools projects to high resolution photos prints the SX218 delivers each and every time in terms of print quality however, it does lack speed. Printing speed is grossly exaggerated by the official spec sheet and using a standard quality setting the SX218 is capable of around 4ppm (pages per minute) printing standard pages of text. The scanner is adequate for basic tasks but high resolution photos with detailed reproduction are not its forte. The built-in copier is one the SX218’s PC-free functions means it can work without the device needing to be physically connected to the PC and while the copier is great for copying the odd document the SX218’s printing speed means its not great for large volumes. The other PC-free function is the direct printing facility from memory cards and digital camera thanks to the SX218’s memory card reader and PicBridge connection. In a nutshell the Epson Stylus SX218 is a compact device that can print, copy and scan without taking up much space or doing too much damage to your bank balance.
